The Denver Broncos are coming off a strong showing in their 17-7 preseason Andre Rison Jersey win over the Dallas Cowboys. In Saturday’s game, however, the Broncos felt the sting of the injury bug in more ways than one.Not only did the Broncos lose starting linebacker Jonas Griffith to a dislocated elbow (4-6 weeks), but the absence of two players currently on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list put the onus on guys who weren’t exactly equal to their opportunity. On Monday, the Broncos announced that rush linebacker Randy Gregory and offensive tackle Billy Turner have been activated from the PUP list. Both were signed this past spring (Gregory five years/$70M, Turner one year, $2.5M) but showed up injured. The Broncos were ostensibly aware of both players’ health status when the deals were made. Gregory quickly went under the knife after signing with Denver to repair a shoulder injury, while Turner has been nursing a knee injury that has lingered since last season in Green Bay.Sans Gregory, and with fellow starter Bradley Chubb being held out, the Broncos’ young edge rushers actually played quite well. Tip your cap to Baron Browning and Nik Bonitto, who both looked athletic Calvin Ridley Jersey and capable as edge defenders.Offensive tackle, however, was a different story vs. the Cowboys. Calvin Anderson has been playing right tackle with the first-team offense since training camp began, and that’s where he set up shop on Saturday night.Anderson’s performance vs. Dallas left much to be desired, especially in pa s protection. Now, whether that accelerated Denver’s decision to bring Turner off the PUP list is unclear, but if the club has any designs of exposing Ru sell Wilson to live-bullet preseason reps, the team would be remi s to do so with Anderson at right tackle.Scroll to ContinueSo, Turner returns to the practice field to take his place as this team Colby Gossett Jersey ‘s presumptive right tackle. How soon he joins his teammates in practice remains to be seen, but it’s a positive development. The plan with Gregory, though, has always been one of caution. GM George Paton said that Gregory would be ready to play in Week 1’s tilt at the Seattle Seahawks.Perhaps Tajae Sharpe Jersey Gregory coming off the PUP is a sign that he’s ahead of schedule with his recovery, or it could simply be that this was the plan all along. Time will tell.As for the injury to Griffith, which will cost him 4-6 weeks, morning, after he visited the facility a little more than a week ago. Schobert injects some veteran wherewithal into the Broncos’ inside linebacker room and projects as the day-one starter next to Josey Jewell with Griffith sidelined.

Ever since the New York Giants christened the Quest Diagnostics Training Center –then known as the Timex Performance Center–in 2010, quarterback Eli Manning Darrell Henderson Jr. Jersey held the same locker stall from Day 1 right up to his final season in 2019.Well, it’s been two years since NFL locker rooms have been open to reporters, and a lot has changed. This week, as the Giants opened up their locker room doors to reporters, there was quite a bit of change inside the Max Pircher Jersey locker room, most notably at the stall once occupied by Manning. Now a signed to defensive lineman Nick Williams, the Giants immortalized the stall with a special commemorative Matthew Stafford Hoodies Sweatshirts plaque above Williams’ nameplate, which you can see below.Scroll to ContinueWilliams has been in the league since 2013, three years after the QDTC opened. But suffice it to say, he doesn’t quite have the resume that Manning po se ses. Still, there’s something special about being a signed the locker once held by a member of the team’s Ring of Honor and, in the minds of many, a future Hall of Famer Brandon Powell Jersey .And who knows? Maybe Manning left a little bit of that special brand of magic for future generations of Giants to tap into.Join the Giants Country Community

With an a sortment of interior offensive line injuries, the Arizona Cardinals went after a player they had high grades on in the 2019 draft.Arizona traded a 2023 fifth-rounder to the Buffalo Bills Monday for Cody Ford, a lineman with experience at tackle and guard in three NFL seasons. He also played college ball at Oklahoma, getting drafted along with Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver Marquise Brown.Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said he sees Ford playing inside for his new team with the ability to pop back out if needed.Ford was not with the Cardinals at practice on Tuesday ahead of the team’s trip to Tenne see.”With some of the injuries we’ve had inside there, we felt like it was a position we could get some more depth, and he DeVonta Smith Jersey ‘s a very physical player and we liked the tape,” Kingsbury said.Kingsbury noted that Murray always advocates for his OU teammates, a growing number of players on the Cardinals’ roster. Arizona traded for Brown and selected Oklahoma guard Marquis Hayes during the draft this offseason.Scroll to ContinueThe Cardinals’ coach believes Ford’s connections in Arizona will help his transition to a new city so close to the season.”There will be a comfort level here as far as just getting to know the area and getting settled in over the next two weeks before we kick off the regular season,” Kingsbury said.Hayes, Will Hernandez, Justin Pugh and Danny Isidora are among the Cardinals’ offensive linemen dealing with ailments.Kingsbury said Tuesday that Pugh is getting checked out for a po sible stinger, while Hernandez (ankle) will be back by next week. Hayes (knee) is set to return in a week or two, and Isidora will need a “few more weeks” after being seen in a walking boot. Justin Murray has mi sed considerable time because of an ankle injury.10 camp notes and observations:The Cardinals head to Tenne see Tuesday for a joint practice with the Titans Wednesday. Initially, the two squads were scheduled to have competition for two days before their preseason game Saturday, but Kingsbury asked Titans head coach Mike Brian Westbrook Jersey Vrabel to cut it to one due to injuries. Vrabel agreed and the two sides will conduct “limited competitive periods” Wednesday, per Kingsbury. Thursday will be a walkthrough for the Cardinals.Kingsbury also said Saturday’s contest will look a lot like Arizona’s first two preseason games in terms of younger players taking the field. Looks like Murray and most of the starters won’t get a snap this preseason. With the end of camp in sight, Kingsbury said there are very few starting position battles still ongoing: Travis Fulgham Jersey “I think we have a pretty good feel, unle s injuries come up, for who’s gonna be where.”Center Rodney Hudson was more active during individual drills as he works his way back from near retirement during the offseason and an earlier knee i sue.Rookie center/guard Lecitus Smith was on the field after exiting Sunday’s game with an apparent injury and returning. Running back Jonathan Ward was not on the field Tuesday after suffering a shoulder injury Sunday. Kingsbury said Ward’s injury should not be “too bad” after the game.Backup quarterback Colt McCoy continues to progre s from his arm ailment, and his throws looked sharp on the practice field during drills Tuesday.Kingsbury said there are only advantages to keeping three quarterbacks on the active roster, joking that since he was a quarterback as a player there should be a rule about keeping three on the roster. Trace McSorley and Jarrett Guarantano are battling for that spot.Cornerback Antonio Hamilton was not on the practice field due to Brandon Graham Jersey a doctor’s appointment.Wide receiver Victor Bolden Jr. said he is in game shape since he played in the USFL this season. He said NFL teams were showing interest in him during his campaign, and he took a week off to try out for the Cardinals, which went well.Bolden said he ran track and even competed in an indoor meet this offseason to stay ready. He ran the 200 meters.Roster movesThe Cardinals announced they waived punter Nolan Cooney, cornerback Cortez Davis, tight end Josh Hokit and running back T.J. Pledger. They also waived/injured cornerback Darrell Baker Jr. Once he clears waivers, Baker will revert to reserve/injured until potentially receiving an injury settlement. The roster is at 80 plus international player, tight end Bernhard Seikovits.

Just like the rest of the world, NFL teams have navigated the COVID-19 pandemic in different ways. Some have altered their approach to certain areas of the sport, while others have more or le s gone about busine s as they normally would. One area this is most evident in is the draft, which, over the last two years, has been greatly impacted by the suspension and/or outright cancellation of college games, seasons, in-person workouts/visits and more. Evaluating young talent has never been more difficult and that has understandably scared some teams away from partaking to a significant degree, including the Seahawks. In fact, Seattle may be on the most extreme end of the spectrum in that regard. Prior to the 2021 NFL Draft, general manager John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll directly pointed to the uncertain nature of the amateur scouting world as a determining factor in their decision to trade two first-round picks and a third for Jets safety Jamal Adams during the summer of 2020.”It’s definitely a unique year,” Schneider said on the matter. “It factored into the equation with the Adams trade last summer as we were reviewing and trying to project what the college football season was going to look like.”In addition to the capital shipped off to New York, the Seahawks also dealt their 2021 fifth-round pick to the Raiders for guard Gabe Jackson, their sixth to trade up with the Dolphins in the 2020 draft to select tight end Stephen Sullivan and their seventh to the Bengals for defensive end Carlos Dunlap. That left them with a league-low three selections and the worst pick value of any draft since 1999.Defying expectations, Schneider and friends Jonah Williams Jersey did nothing to dig themselves out of that holenot in the long-term, at least. After surprisingly sticking with their first scheduled pick, No. 56, to take Western Michigan receiver Dee Eskridge, they moved down from pick No. 129 to No. 137 and netted No. 217 from the Buccaneers in the proce s. That brought their pick count up to a whopping total of four, which was whittled back down to three when they zeroed in on Florida tackle Stone Forsythe. In order to secure Forsythe, they packaged No. 217 and No. 250 to acquire No. 208 from the Bears. If their comments and actions beforehand didn’t make it clear enough, the Seahawks proved they were uncomfortable committing significant resources to this particular draft cla s. And they had levers to pull that would have bolstered their arsenal of picks, including the use of future picks to trade back into the Boomer Esiason Jersey fifth, sixth and/or seventh roundssomething they have shown a willingne s to do in previous years. The biggest lever, of course, is the one they opted to pull one year later: trading superstar quarterback Ru sell Wilson. With a little under two months to go until the draft, after beginning to publicly voice his displeasure with the organization, Wilson and his agent, Mark Rodgers, purposely leaked four teams he would have waived his no-trade clause for.One of those teams were the Bears, who were speculated to have a deal lined up for Wilson before it was apparently vetoed by Carroll. The structure of that deal would have sent multiple draft picks and players to Seattle, which is ultimately what the Seahawks received from the Broncos earlier this month. So what changed? Why would Carroll approve of a trade similar to the one he reportedly blocked a year ago?Sure, the relationship between franchise and quarterback naturally became even more strained as the two sides combined for their worst year together. That includes Wilson mi sing games for the first time in his profe sional career after suffering a significant finger injury, as well as the Seahawks finishing fourth in the NFC West for the Clay Johnston Jersey first time since joining the division in 2002.But as Michael-Shawn Dugar, Jayson Jenks and Mike Sando of The Athletic , there was evidence of a fracturedor even irreparablerelationship for years.Certainly, the headache became too much for the Seahawks to endure any further, and Wilson’s unwillingne s to engage in extension talks added even more pre sure on the organization to get something done before they found themselves at too severe of a disadvantage. So perhaps it’s as simple as both sides realizing that, without a doubt, they would not be able to patch things up, thus giving more clarity to the situation than what was there last spring.Scroll to ContinueThat said, the circumstances around the leagueand the world as a wholealso changed. COVID-related restrictions were gradually lifted as vaccination rates went up in the United States, marking a return to something resembling pre-pandemic life. The 2021 college football season went off without much of a hitch and events like the Senior Bowl and NFL combine have operated in normal fashion in 2022, providing teams the most acce s they’ve had to players, data and everything in between since February of 2020.Banking on this being the case would have been a risky venture a year ago, however, considering the fluid nature of the pandemic and the lack of information on the efficacy of COVID vaccines at the time. Therefore, teams like the Seahawks were forced to work with the worst-case scenariorestrictions staying in place for the foreseeable futurein mind.Fast-forward to present day; the information and acce s available has afforded Seattle C.J. Uzomah Jersey a level of confidence it had lacked with the draft, which was already a crapshoot prior to the pandemic. There has never been a perfect rhyme or reason to drafting, so adding another major hurdle to overcome in attempting to properly scout and identify talent made last year’s draft daunting for teams. But with that hurdle now being removed, the value of draft picks has gone back up. For the Seahawks, specifically, that likely made the idea of trading Wilson more palatable. After all, in Carroll and Schneider’s first media appearance following the Wilson trade, the former made note of a “busine s opportunity” that changed his reluctant stance on parting ways.”I love Ru s and loved him in the program,” Carroll stated. “Thats the way I was committed to doing it and I felt that way all the way throughout. The opportunity became available. A busine s opportunity became available. We can see it, now we have the chance to take a look and we did. We took a look and were surprised at how good of a deal came to us.”Schneider was more blunt about it.”When we made the Jamal Adams trade, youre talking about COVID yearstwo really funky years,” Schneider acknowledged. “To be able to get the ninthpick, be able to get to No. 40 and No. 41 for us was big, especially in this draft. Were going to pick eight times in 2022 . Its really big, especially next year when the majority of the cap space comes into effect with Ru sells contract coming off the books , and then the draft capital next year with the two first-round picks and two second-round picks.”To Schneider’s

INDIANAPOLIS – Dealing with injuries and unexpectedly dismal production on offense, the Seahawks suffered through their first double-digit lo s season in more than a decade, finishing the 2021 campaign in last place in the rugged NFC West and mi sing the playoffs for only the third time in 12 years. The poor performance on the field undoubtedly left a bad taste in general manager John Schneider’s mouth, as the renowned executive isn’t used to seeing his team sitting at home for the postseason, let alone flailing to a top 10 draft choice that doesn’t even belong to them. Instead, the Jets hold that selection as part of the blockbuster trade for safety Jamal Adams two years ago, adding insult to injury. While the season didn’t come close to meeting Schneider’s high expectations and they don’t have that coveted top-10 pick, he isn’t discouraged in regard to the franchise’s future. As a matter of fact, he told reporters while speaking at the 2021 NFL Scouting Combine on Wednesday that he sees plenty of reasons to be confident the Seahawks will be able to return to playoff contention in quick order, including having better fortune bestowed upon them in close games.”It was hard. It was really hard,” Schneider responded when asked to share his thoughts on the season. “But it also creates this excitement about like, ‘ Cameron Dantzler Jersey okay, we know how to do it. We’ve been here before.’ We’re going to do it again. All these games are, you look at just the playoffs. All those were phenomenal games. And we had so many games that were so close that it could have gone, a play here, a play there, turn over here, turn over there.”As Schneider indicated, Seattle did lose a number of games in the closing minutes that easily could have been victories if the ball bounced differently on a play or two. In the past, the team has consistently excelled winning and finishing off one-score games, including going 11-3 in one-score regular season and postseason contests in 2019.But living on the edge finally came back to bite the Seahawks last season. With the margin for error shrinking thanks to Ru sell Wilson mi Stephen Weatherly Jersey sing time and struggling in his initial return from a ruptured tendon in his right middle finger, they lost five games decided by three points or le s, including a pair of overtime defeats at the hands of the Titans and Steelers. If a few of those games would have gone differently, a return to the playoffs may have been in the cards. What truly gives Schneider reason to be optimistic about Seattle’s chances for a rapid rebound, however, is the young core of talented players waiting in the wings ready to make an impact for the team on both sides of the football.Scroll to ContinueInjuries have been a persistent i sue the Seahawks have battled with early draft picks in recent years. 2018 first-round pick Rashaad Penny mi sed 28 combined games in his first four seasons and 2019 second-round pick Marquise Blair has mi sed more than 20 games with a pair of knee injuries, while 2020 second-round pick Darrell Taylor mi sed his entire rookie season and 2021 second-round pick Dee Eskridge mi sed seven games with a severe concu sion last season.Unfortunately for Schneider and company, this poor injury luck hasn’t been limited to first and second-round selections either. Along with Eskridge mi sing nearly half of his rookie year along with sitting out a significant portion of offseason workouts, fourth-round pick Tre Brown’s promising start to his NFL career came to a halt after playing in just five games at cornerback due to a patellar tendon injury in his knee. Second-year tight end Colby Parkinson also mi sed multiple games with a broken foot for a second straight year.Despite Myron Mitchell Jersey all of these injuries, Schneider still has high hopes for all of those players and believes each of them can be difference makers for the Seahawks. In the case of Taylor and Penny, fans finally got to see what they could do when healthy as the former generated 6.5 sacks to finish tied for second on the team last year and the latter exploded for over 700 rushing yards in the final six games of the regular season. Before going down in Week 11, Brown also flashed, allowing eight receptions on 17 targets for 75 yards and no touchdowns.”It’s an exciting time. I mean, there’s so many cool young guys that haven’t even been able to play for us ,” Schneider commented. “Like two years ago, I told you that Marquise Blair was one of our top three guys on our team in training camp, and he has a freak injury. He has a freak injury he’s coming off. He’s worked his tail off, and then he gets hurt again this year.Rashaad Penny had a rough go to start. He had durability i sues and then all of a sudden he takes off, and we haven’t even really seen D’Wayne Eskridge yet, or Tre Brown was playing real well.”As Schneider noted, Seattle’s young core isn’t limited to players who have been slowed by injuries. Linebacker Jordyn Brooks earned an All-Pro vote after leading the NFL with a whopping 184 tackles last season and looks poised to take the torch from Bobby Wagner in the middle. In the trenches, tackle Stone Forsythe may still be a factor in the team’s plans after only seeing a handful of snaps in a “redshirt” rookie season, while defensive end Alton Robinson could see a significant uptick in opportunities in his third season. In the end, Schneider Dede Westbrook Jersey knows the Seahawks must do a better job of developing these young players, acquiring talent in general, and improving depth to withstand the attrition of an NFL season. As he put it, they need to be 69 players deep and develop players “all the way through the season” to put themselves in the best position to contend in the best division in the sport. With players such as Penny set to hit free agency, accomplishing that task won’t be easy. Talent retention never is.But after the Seahawks endured their worst season under his watch, Schneider is taking those challenges on personally to ensure history won’t repeat itself in 2022. The buck stops with him and a revamped coaching staff to check off those boxes. If they succeed and several of their young players stay healthy and ascend into key roles as hoped, fortunes could change quickly with the team climbing right back into the mix in the NFC West.

The Kansas City Chiefs rebuilt nearly their entire secondary this offseason, and a familiar face is no longer a part of the team. , the club has released cornerback Deandre Baker. The Chiefs released CB DeAndre Baker, a former first-round pick by the Giants. He was down on the depth chart after the Chiefs drafted Trent McDuffie, Josh Williams and Jaylen Watson and traded for Lonnie Johnson.- Baker, who back in November of 2020, was inching closer to two full years in Kansas City at the time of his release. The former New York Giants first-round pick from 2019 came into town looking for a George Pickens T Shirts fresh start following off-the-field troubles that led to the end of his tenure in New York. He accomplished the feat of hitting the reset button in Kansas City, although he never quite managed to break out on the field. His Chiefs career in the club’s final regular-season game of the 2020-21 campaign. In 10 games with the Chiefs (two starts) over the course of the 2020 and 2021 seasons, Baker logged 21 tackles (one for lo s) while recording two pa ses broken up and one sack. He played 35% of the team’s defensive snaps in 2020, then raised that number to 39% last season. He also contributed on special teams, playing 20 and 25% of those snaps, respectively, with the Chiefs during those two seasons. Last year saw Baker post a .Scroll to ContinueBack in June of this year, Baker signed his exclusive rights free agent (ERFA) tender with the Chiefs. That all but ensured that he’d be Pittsburgh Steelers T Shirts back with the team for another run, although that run came up well short of the regular season or playoffs. Still looking for his first career interception, Baker now hits the open market also looking for a statement season that can get his previous career arc back on track. Baker will turn just 25 years old in September. What does this Najee Harris T Shirts mean for the Chiefs?Just last week, about the insane amount of competition within the Chiefs’ cornerback room. He described Baker as a “long shot” to make the final 53-man roster, saying the following about the young defensive back:Outside of Sneed, Deandre Baker is the only cornerback with experience playing in Spagnuolos system. Experience is typically positive in these positional battles, but it is a di service to Baker. Last season, the Chiefs chose to continuously play Mike Hughes and other cornerbacks instead of putting Baker on the field. As a result, he is truly on the outside looking in. Unle s he impre ses in a big way during training camp and the preseason, it will be nearly impo sible for Baker to crack the roster. The Chiefs have plenty of prominent cornerbacks projected to fit into this year’s depth chart. At the top, L’Jarius Sneed and first-round pick Trent McDuffie should slot into two of the premier starting roles. McDuffie will be pushed by Rashad Fenton, however, who is still on the physically unable to perform Pittsburgh Steelers Accessories list but has played starting-caliber football for a few years in a row. Fourth-round pick Joshua Williams is turning heads at training camp, and the Fayetteville State product has the combination of length and athleticism to be a serious threat to gain playing time in year one.Outside of Williams, the duo of Lonnie Johnson and Dicaprio Bootle is fighting for roster spots. Rookies Jaylen Watson and Nazeeh Johnson can also be lumped in there, although the latter was drafted as a safety and faces an uphill battle to avoid roster cuts. Baker and Chris Lammons were re-signed this offseason, although Baker’s fate has been decided and Lammons’ odds of making the team aren’t looking terrific at this point in time.
